HOSTING AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

BRING THE WORLD INTO YOUR HOME

Hosting an overseas student is a wonderful way to bring another part of the world into your own home. It provides your Australian family with the opportunity to observe and hear the story of a young person who is a long way from home and who is keen to experience life in Australia.

The fun, friendship and rewarding educational benefits of hosting an international student make the experience unforgettable. Hosting is a great way to learn more about another country and gain a new perspective on the world.

What Is Required Of Host Families?

A host family in Australia provides room, board and a warm supportive home for the overseas teenager. Hosted students are prepared to assume the responsibilities of daily life in your family and are instructed to bring spending money.

Nacel Australasia coordinators, as well as teacher-chaperones, stay in touch with the students, host families and schools during the student’s stay in Australia. They are available to answer questions at any time.

Nacel Australasia ensures students are covered by medical, liability and emergency return insurance for the duration of their stay.

Nacel Australasia will also require:

    • A current Working with Children’s Check or the equivalent in your State for any person over the age of 18 years who resides in the family home.
    • A Police Clearance no older than 6 months from the host parents.
    • 2 Character References.
    • Acknowledgment of Nacel Australasia’s Commitment to Child Safety and Wellbeing Policies.
